The Role

About this role

Vice President, Business Development, Nordics

This role sits within Preqin, part of BlackRock's Aladdin Client Business. Together, we are transforming how private markets data and technology power investment decisions globally.

Preqin plays a critical role in expanding BlackRock's private markets capabilities, complementing the Aladdin platform and helping clients view, analyze, and act across their entire portfolio. We are ambitious, collaborative, and deeply client focused, and we are just getting started!

Our mission is to create a better financial future for our clients. We are a diverse group of people who like to analyze, reinvent, and enhance how we work, all in pursuit of a better experience for our colleagues and clients. There are limitless problems to solve and opportunities for development, alongside a team of clever and caring colleagues. Our culture is based on respect, inclusion and diversity, but also challenge, stretch and feedback. We believe people reach their best potential when the different facets of their home, work and community are all cared about. We can promise a fun, fast-paced work environment, competitive and innovative benefits, and the ability to define your role in pursuit of your aspirations.

Your Role:

As a Vice President within Preqin's Business Development team, you will play a pivotal role in developing and accelerating our growth across the Nordic region. Based in Copenhagen or Stockholm, you will be Preqin's dedicated commercial representative in the region, with significant ownership for shaping and executing our local growth strategy.

We are looking for a commercially driven, relationship-oriented professional who is excited to build a market, open doors and close meaningful partnerships. You will generate new subscription revenue, build a strong and sustainable pipeline, and expand existing client relationships.

You will work closely with colleagues across BlackRock and Aladdin in the Nordics to identify joint opportunities, coordinate client engagement and combine our capabilities to deliver better outcomes for clients.

This is a highly visible and autonomous role. You will be trusted to set priorities, develop Preqin's regional presence and represent the business with senior clients and market participants across Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway and Iceland.

What you'll be doing:

We'll rely on you to own the full sales lifecycle, from first conversation to close, engaging senior decision makers, understanding client needs and delivering thoughtful, value-driven solutions. You'll actively develop new business opportunities while also uncovering strategic expansion opportunities within our existing client base.

You'll bring Preqin's products and capabilities to life, confidently articulating how we help clients solve complex challenges in private markets. This includes delivering compelling proposals, running impactful product demonstrations and acting as a trusted partner throughout the buying journey, whether meeting clients in person or connecting virtually.

You will build relationships across the Nordic alternatives ecosystem, including institutional investors, asset managers, wealth platforms, consultants, banks, service providers and other key market participants. You will also represent Preqin at relevant industry events, conferences and client forums, helping strengthen our brand and local market presence.

Above all, you'll be a collaborative force: working cross-functionally with Preqin, BlackRock and Aladdin colleagues, sharing market insights and client feedback, and contributing to a culture that celebrates success and learns from every experience.

What we are looking for:

We're excited to meet candidates who bring energy, curiosity and a growth mindset. You will have meaningful experience in business development, enterprise sales, relationship management or account management within financial services, private markets, capital markets, investment technology, market data or B2B SaaS.

You will bring strong knowledge of the Nordic financial services and alternatives landscape, ideally supported by established relationships across institutional investors, asset managers, wealth managers, banks, consultants or other private markets participants.

You have a proven track record of delivering results, consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets, and you are comfortable navigating complex sales cycles with multiple stakeholders. You understand how to negotiate thoughtfully, identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities, and create long-term value for clients.

You are entrepreneurial, self-motivated and comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy, accountability and ownership. You are commercially savvy, analytically strong and naturally detail oriented. You enjoy solving problems, setting your own priorities and turning regional opportunity into a focused commercial plan.

Fluent English is required. Danish, Swedish or another Nordic language would be an advantage, but is not a prerequisite.

Strong proficiency with Microsoft tools, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and comfort with technology more broadly will help you thrive in this role.

Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.

Our benefits

To help you stay energized, engaged and inspired, we offer a wide range of employee benefits including: retirement investment and tools designed to help you in building a sound financial future; access to education reimbursement; comprehensive resources to support your physical health and emotional well-being; family support programs; and Flexible Time Off (FTO) so you can relax, recharge and be there for the people you care about.

What We Do

As the world’s largest asset manager, BlackRock partners with investors around the globe to help them (and those on whose behalf they invest) plan for life’s most important goals – like retirement, home ownership and their children’s education. Our clients range from governments, foundations and other large institutions to those investing on behalf of individuals, including firefighters, nurses, teachers and factory workers. BlackRock was founded with the idea of creating a better asset management firm — one that was purpose-driven, focused on clients and risk management, and propelled by data and technology. Our breakthrough Aladdin® platform is BlackRock’s technological backbone, helping investors see and manage their whole portfolios in one place – from constructing investments to monitoring risk and executing trades. Used by hundreds of external institutions around the world, Aladdin combines powerful analytics and a common language to help investment teams make faster, more informed decisions across public and private markets. It’s a key part of our business and one of the reasons we’re trusted to manage more assets than any other investment manager today. At BlackRock, we challenge conventions and raise the bar for what’s possible. We harness technology to unlock new solutions, simplify complexity, and deliver investment strategies that meet people where they are. Whether it’s retirement planning, wealth building or navigating market shifts, we’re here to help clients invest more easily, more affordably and with more choice as we chart a path toward financial well-being together.
