Vice President, AML & Sanction Advisory

To provide strong risk governance oversight and effective advisory services to the Consumer Financial Services (CFS) division, ensuring robust AML/CFT and sanction risk management. The role supports business growth by enabling prudent risk management, delivering practical KYC and CDD guidance, and driving compliance with regulatory and Group standards.
What you do
AML/CFT & Sanctions Advisory
Act as a trusted AML risk partner by providing expert AML/CFT and sanctions advisory services to business units within the CFS division, supporting sustainable business growth through prudent risk management.
Provide practical and value-added advice to branches and distribution channels on Know-Your-Customer (KYC) and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) matters, ensuring consistent application of CDD and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) processes.
Policy Ownership & Compliance:
Develop and maintain the CDD procedures and other AML/CFT and sanctions-related policies and procedures specific to the CFS division.
Conduct regular reviews and timely updates of these policies to ensure alignment with evolving regulatory requirements and Group-wide policies.
Collaboration & Process Optimization
Collaborate with Financial Crime Compliance (FCC), business units, and stakeholders to embed compliance through efficient processes and robust risk controls.
Drive best practices in Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) with strong adopting a risk-based approach to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in AML/CFT risk management.
Embrace and leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI), data analytics, and digitalization to enhance CDD and EDD practices, strengthen risk insights, and enable proactive AML surveillance and monitoring.
Risk Assessment & Reporting
Lead and manage entity-level and division-level AML/CFT risk assessments to identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks effectively.
Ensure accuracy, completeness and timeliness in all AML/CFT reporting to the Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) Department and Senior Management.
Training & Awareness:
Design, develop, and conduct AML/CFT and sanction training programs for relevant staff to enhance awareness and compliance culture.
Who you are
Bachelor’s degree in Banking & Finance, Law, Business Administration, or related field; Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., Advanced Certification in Anti-Money Laundering / Counter Financing in Terrorism (ACAML) by AICB) preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in AML/CFT, sanctions compliance, or financial crime compliance, preferably within consumer financial services or retail banking.
Strong knowledge of AML/CFT regulations, sanctions regimes, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
Proven experience in developing and implementing AML/CFT policies, procedures, and training programs.
Demonstrated ability to provide practical advisory services and collaborate effectively with business units.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel for effective data gathering, analysis and visualization.
Key competencies
Excellent writing and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with individuals at various organizational levels.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
