Overview
This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage all aspects of Mastercard's relationship with a leading regional bank across multiple Asia Pacific markets.
As the Regional Account Lead, you will:
- Drive annual and multi-year strategic account planning, priority setting, and joint strategy development with the customer.
- Deliver key outcomes including volume and share growth, new and incremental revenue streams, and successful implementation of innovative platforms and solutions.
- Partner with customer teams and Mastercard cross-functional stakeholders to create impactful payment programs that maximize segment penetration and revenue across markets.
The ideal candidate is a commercially pragmatic business developer with strong relationship management and influencing skills, solid payments industry experience (preferably in Business Development or Product Management on the issuer side), and comfort with technology. Applicants must have sound knowledge of retail electronic payments/cards from an issuing, acquiring, or network perspective.

Role
- Develop, maintain, and execute annual and multi-year strategic account plans and objectives.
- Manage customer relationships and profitability across markets, collaborating with local account teams.
- Build strong relationships with decision-makers and influencers at the customer bank across retail, commercial, and functional verticals.
- Coordinate with Mastercard cross-functional teams to ensure delivery of customer initiatives.
- Identify and implement strategies to drive Mastercard-branded volume growth and net income.
- Partner with customer business leads to present new opportunities and product propositions that deliver incremental value.
- Ensure compliance with all Customer Business Agreements and contractual obligations.
- Conduct quarterly business reviews and annual planning sessions across markets.
- Develop business cases for new revenue opportunities and support market strategies to increase share, volume, and loyalty through innovative programs.

- Extensive senior management experience across multiple markets in consumer product development and relationship management.
- Proven track record in commercial and consumer card businesses, ideally with regional exposure.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, with deep understanding of retail banking P&L drivers, especially payment products.
- Exceptional negotiation skills and ability to create mutually beneficial solutions.
- Collaborative leadership style with ability to lead cross-functional and cross-market teams independently.
- Agile thinker who adapts to dynamic customer needs and evolving business environments.
- Ability to integrate knowledge across marketing, operations, and risk disciplines.
- Skilled in building relationships at all levels, including senior management.
In-depth knowledge of the payments industry and retail banking-card program dynamics.
- Assertive, proactive, and influential personality with strong presence and persistence.
- Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Education: MBA preferred; Bachelor's degree or equivalent minimum.
