VFX Production Intern

General Summary
The VFX Production Intern will gain valuable hands-on VFX production experience and training by working in collaboration with our Visual Effects (VFX) production team. The VFX Production Intern will work with our VFX Production Assistants to provide administrative and production support to the LAIKA VFX department. 

Job Functions 

• Assist the VFX production team to respond to department needs and crew requests under VFX management.
• Assist the VFX PAs and VFX Coordinators with recording, tracking, distributing notes, schedules, and/or any other necessary information to relevant teams.  
• Work with the VFX PAs to input shot information and notes into ShotGrid production database.
• Create dailies playlists and operate screening room projector/playback system to assist coordinators with reviews, as needed. 
• Help coordinate department calendars and supervisors/production management’s schedules.  
• Follow up with VFX employees to ensure completion of timecards before department head sign-off, that they are present at required meetings, and are properly adhering to scheduled timeframes.  

Qualifications 

• Currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior in college, or graduated within the last 12 months, with a focus in Visual Effects, Animation, Film, Fine Arts, or other relevant area of study.
• Detail-oriented, excellent communication skills, and work ethic. 
• Able to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. 
• Able to work both collaboratively and independently.

• Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee works under typical office conditions and is exposed to variable indoor temperatures. The noise level is usually quiet or moderate.

Salary 
$20.00/hour set rate, non-negotiable
