Zayo is seeking a Vendor Operations Senior Manager, Field Services and Damage Prevention to primarily provide strategy, direction, and oversight for our field service and damage prevention partners across our North American footprint, including installation, repair, and locating activities. This strategic leader will drive structured, consistent, and disciplined operational practices to ensure stable product delivery aligned with company initiatives and expectations.
The Vendor Operations Senior Manager, Field Services and Damage Prevention will also lead and manage partner performance planning, capital budgeting, and assist with business plan development. The person must also ensure high cross-functional communication and participation in line with product deployment, business operations, and support functions.
Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for operations vendors.
  • Take ownership of everything that happens and fails to happen in our North American vendor performance, including work quality, project delivery, OPEX and CAPEX budget performance, cost reduction measures, and short-to-long term business strategies.
  • Enamor our customers by delivering premier operational performance results.
  • Meet or exceed operational service level performance objectives (installation, repair, damage prevention, unit cost reduction, OPEX & CAPEX budget management).
  • Meet service (commit dates hit, intervals, and production) and financial objectives for large and transactional projects.
  • Interface with internal and external customers and the public in line with ZAYO values.
  • Participate in internal and external customer escalations and drive resolutions.
  • Build the vendor partner operations teams with the talent, skills, and experience needed to meet Zayo goals.
  • Works in a collaborative fashion with internal departments (Operations, Sales, Product,
  • Engineering, Procurement, Finance, and others).
  • Manage third-party partners and negotiate third-party vendor contracts.
  • Oversees requests for information and requests for quote processes.
  • Provide accurate project cost estimates.
  • Builds and manages project capital budgets and meets capital targets.
  • Manages and reduces OPEX budgets and meets OPEX budget targets.
  • Manages multiple and demanding critical priorities.


Qualifications

  • BS degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or other related technical discipline and/or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 8 (eight) years of technical and management work-related experience in the telecommunications industry with emphasis on vendor partner management, fiber transmission methods, optical networks, critical infrastructure, project management, and direct customer interface
  • Outstanding critical thinking and decision-making process skills with the anticipation of risky business situations with deliberate and swift response to same
  • Ability to compose and manage both expense and capital budgets in excess of $1M; responsible for the prompt delivery of revenue, both new business and from existing accounts, through prepositioned facilities capacity
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills to interface with subordinates, peers, customers, and vendors
  • Ability for some travel and access/availability to serve the needs of the business on a 24/7 basis


Base Salary Range:$83,300 - $125,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
