Hourly base pay rate is $19.90 - $29.81/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Job Description

The Vehicle operations support specialist plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional client experience and driving operational success across multiple auction and reconditioning locations. This role blends, coordination, and technical expertise to ensure smooth operations, accurate repair estimation, and high-quality service delivery.

What You’ll Do:

  • Track repair progress, monitor completion timelines, and communicate updates to clients, transportation teams, and internal stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with maintenance, reconditioning, vendor, and operations teams to initiate approved work and maintain smooth repair flow.

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with commercial account representatives, major clients, and vendors.

  • Partner with procurement and parts suppliers to verify pricing, availability, and sourcing of required materials.

  • Coordinate sales preparation for commercial accounts, ensuring accurate collection of vehicle and account information per client SOPs.

  • Audit work completed by Commercial Account Administrators and Procurement teams for accuracy.

  • Maintain detailed records of estimates, approvals, and completed work in alignment with company standards.

  • Serve as a liaison between departments, clients, and vendors to resolve issues and ensure a positive experience.

  • Communicate process changes, challenges, and account updates to managers and stakeholders.

  • Model safe behaviors and adhere to all safety guidelines.

  • Actively participate in safety initiatives, team huddles, and continuous improvement efforts aligned with Safety Excellence.

  • Strategically align Cox Automotive’s suite of products and services with client business models to drive success.

  • Promote upselling opportunities through strong client relationships and service excellence.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proven experience in operations, client service, and team leadership within the automotive or auction industry.

  • Strong understanding of cosmetic and mechanical repair processes.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across remote and physical locations.

  • Commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

  • High School Diploma/GED and 5 years’ experience in a related field.

  • Experience in the automobile industry or the auction business preferred.

  • Customer service experience required.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.

  • Strong interpersonal skills required.

  • Strong organizational skills required.

  • Good computer software skills necessary. Must possess proficient Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook skills.

  • Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.

  • Ability to perform repetitive data entry tasks, manual dexterity.

  • Vision abilities required include close, distance and depth perception.

Drug Testing

To be employed in this role, you’ll need to clear a pre-employment drug test. Cox Automotive does not currently administer a pre-employment drug test for marijuana for this position. However, we are a drug-free workplace, so the possession, use or being under the influence of drugs illegal under federal or state law during work hours, on company property and/or in company vehicles is prohibited.

Benefits

Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
