JOB PURPOSE:
The Grocery Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Grocery Department. This includes supervising grocery staff, managing product ordering and inventory, ensuring proper merchandising and shelf presentation, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, and delivering exceptional customer service. The role requires flexibility in scheduling to support the store’s needs and ensure efficient department performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Receives, verifies, organizes, tags, labels, prices, and stocks merchandise in assigned areas in accordance with company standards.
- Maintains proper product rotation (FIFO), dating, and storage procedures to ensure freshness and minimize shrink.
- Monitors inventory levels; identifies out-of-stock, damaged, expired, or slow-moving items and takes appropriate corrective action.
- Prepares for and participates in monthly and fiscal physical inventories.
- Ensures cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of sales floor, storage, staging, and backroom areas in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Provides prompt, courteous customer service; answers product-related questions and directs customers to merchandise locations.
- Demonstrates knowledge of current advertising, promotions, and sales programs to support department goals.
- Assists with product preparation and restocking for the next business day; properly disposes of waste and damaged goods.
- Receives and verifies incoming merchandise in the absence of the designated receiver.
- Examines equipment and reports maintenance or safety concerns to management.
- Ensures compliance with all company policies, safety procedures, and health regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 2-5 years experience is preferred
CERTIFICATIONS:
- Valid Health Certificate
