Overview
The Actuarial Analyst will perform valuation/financial reporting and analysis for Korea business. The role will contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of the financial forecasting infrastructure and analytic foundation by developing/maintaining actuarial models and processes used not only for valuation, but also to support unbiased business planning, reporting, economic capital refinement, capital planning, cash flow testing, and other such uses. The Actuarial Analyst will provide general valuation, financial analysis, and project assistance.
What you will do
Financial reporting
- Assists in local financial/ regulatory reporting/ solvency forecasting and management reporting
- Generate expected, actual cashflows for US-GAAP, IFRS17 and K-ICS
- Quarterly closing for US-GAAP, IFRS17 and K-ICS
- Annual business planning: projection and estimate its profit and key indicators
- Support SOE (Source of earning) analysis for US-GAAP and movement analysis on fulfillment cashflows and experience variance for IFRS17
Valuation model
- Build and maintain cash flows projection models of new and existing treaties
- Maps actuarial assumptions from pricing document or basis change memo into the valuation system
Experience study
- Performs experience studies of mortality, morbidity and lapse and basis change
- Experience monitoring and support experience-variance analysis
Performs other duties as required
Qualifications
- At least Bachelor's degree
- At least 3 years’ experience of actuarial valuation in life insurance companies or capable of catching up quickly
- Actuarial software experience (Prophet is preferred)
- Good understanding Korean life insurance products and financial statements
- Good understanding of US-GAAP/ LDTI or IFRS17/ K-ICS
- Good verbal and written communication skills in both Korean and English
- Korea qualified actuary is preferred
- Proficient Excel and software skills including database applications is preferred (Access, Oracle, SQL, Macro)
