Wargaming Prague is looking for a talented and experienced Senior WEB UX/UI Designer to take on the role of UX/UI Design Team Lead. You will be instrumental in both enhancing the team and delivering impactful features (gameplay and meta).
Job Overview
As part of a Prague UX/UI team, your focus will be on guiding UX/UI work for a significant product area and handle complex projects with overlapping organizational lines by contributing improvements to processes and techniques, evolving user experience, designing visual elements for both gameplay and meta features of the Universal stream of the Prague studio, overseeing the UI kit, and introducing innovative approaches. You'll closely collaborate with Game Designers on their creative vision, with System Designers (Business Analysts) on corner cases and documentation, and will work closely with Developers on implementing your ideas.
As Team Lead, you’ll proactively set vision for your area, with a goal to inspire and motivate other UX/UI Designers. You will focus on managing the UX/UI Design discipline, defining the discipline development strategy based on team portrait and studio roadmap, assigning tasks, reviewing outputs, and setting development goals while providing ongoing feedback. What will you do?
- Represent design as a leader to the rest of the organization.
- Define and refine goals, standards and processes for UX/UI Design discipline.
- Create development plans for team members based on their skillset and the studio needs.
- Mentor team members, oversee task assignment, review work artifacts, and provide structured performance feedback.
- Advocate for your POV at all levels of the organization (e.g. to executives) and can leverage data, storytelling, and visual design to bring stakeholders along.
- Collaborate with the feature team and stakeholders while creating concepts and prototypes, searching for optimal solutions and approaches.
- Request UX research of your interfaces or conduct such research by yourself, participate in selecting good research participants.
- Communicate research findings with the feature team and other stakeholders, convert research findings into further improvements.
- Participate in cross-review of work of your colleagues-designers.
- Create final mock-ups, animation, and feature documentation for further development.
- Collaborate with development teams to consult them and to ensure the implementation of the feature aligns with the design.
- Carry out author’s control (design review).
- Participate in monitoring and evaluating the performance and effectiveness of implemented features, providing feedback and recommendations for enhancements or modifications.
- Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in UX/UI design and apply them to enhance the user experience.
- Guide the direction of the product and continually advocate for users and user-oriented design.
What are we looking for?
- 4+ years of documented experience in UX/UI design, supported by portfolio.
- Work that is thorough and complete with edge cases fully thought out as model of your accuracy and precision.
- Ability to work out patterns that can be utilized by others designers.
- Deep understanding of the industry interaction patterns and their nuances across platforms.
- You making decisions confidently without the system being fully documented, while also actively working on creating a documenting the system.
- Knowledge about latest content tooling, and advocating for products that would improve our process and boost consistency.
- Experience of conducting UX research, user interviewing, usability, and A/B testing.
- Ability to translate UX research insights into actionable design solutions
- Knowledge of user journey analysis tools and methodologies.
- Knowledge of the life cycle of the project/product.
- Strong communication skills with an empathetic approach. Ability to effectively use data and best practices in sharing design ideas and rationale to stakeholders at all levels and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Thinking outside the box and looking for optimal solutions in non-trivial cases.
- Proactivity and self-motivation, with a strong ability to take initiative, drive projects, and bring new ideas to the table.
- Strong English skills: writing, speaking, and presenting.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and quality.
- Strong self-organization and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Solid experience in designing for responsive web.
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other UI development tools.
- Strong learning skills.
- System thinking.
