We’re redefining what it means to be connected to your customer, giving everyone on the product team fast and easy access to customer insights at any point in the development lifecycle.
Founded in 2017, Dovetail’s team is 100+ and growing across our offices in Sydney and San Francisco. We’re seeking ambitious problem solvers from a diverse range of backgrounds, who are desired for their experience, passionate about their craft, and excited about the work we’re undertaking. If this sounds like you, read on…
We’re looking for someone to support our senior researcher in driving customer insights and guiding user-informed product development across the organization.
What you'll do
- Conduct end to end research projects. We're looking for someone who can work across the end-to-end research process – from recruitment, research execution, incentive management, and delivery of insights.
- Contribute to product improvements in your area of coverage, by collaborating closely with designers and engineers.
- Support designers in delivering evaluative research. Our designers are responsible for running their own research projects to evaluate their designs. You’ll support them by enabling them all the way from research ops, to research design, to execution.
- Help the team understand the customer. One of our company values is to ‘put the customer first’, and by nature of what we’re building at Dovetail, our team is highly engaged in research and understanding the customer. You’ll help facilitate this by communicating our customers needs, motivations and pain-points to the whole organization.
- Redefine cutting edge research. Work closely our senior researcher to determine the most effective strategies for conducting research in a dynamic start-up environment.
What you'll bring
- Strong background in research foundations. You have experience working as a professional qualitative researcher working with sophisticated, modern cloud software. You can confidently execute secondary and evaluative research.
- Being pragmatic and adaptable in your research approach is essential. The ability to redefine research projects to align with evolving timelines and priorities ensures that you can effectively contribute to the rapid development of products at Dovetail.
- Effective communication and presentation skills. Thoughtful, concise communication is key so you can communicate insights and recommendations to the team. Be able to convey your opinions and feelings with other teammates, founders, and customers.
- Curiosity. Being curious about our business and our customers is essential for a successful researcher at Dovetail. You should also embrace the opportunity to learn new skills and adopt innovative research methods that align with our fast-paced startup environment.
- Highly collaborative. Experience working closely with other researchers and adjacent roles, such as designers, product managers and engineers, to plan, prioritise, and deliver projects.
- A great attitude. The right attitude towards a sense of urgency, risk, and uncertainty about the future that comes with working at an early-stage startup. This is an opportunity to be involved in an exciting journey from the very start.
At Dovetail, we’re passionate about building and fostering an environment where every team member feels supported and valued. We celebrate individualism, welcoming everyone to show up as their authentic selves every day. It’s no secret that diversity builds the best teams, large or small, so we highly encourage applications from people who identify as part of an under-represented group.
