Heard is seeking a passionate user researcher to help us deeply understand the needs, motivations and behaviors of our users, and ultimately improve their day-to-day experience as providers and entrepreneurs. This is a part time role for 10 hours per week to start, with the possibility of additional opportunities pending business needs. As an integral part of our Engineering, Product, and Design, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting our journey towards evolving and improving our product to becoming an essential financial partner for mental health providers. The ideal candidate is curious, eager to learn, collaborative, and passionate about our mission to support mental health professionals
Responsibilities
- Lead research efforts for the Heard community. This will include identifying and selecting the most appropriate types of surveys, experimentation, user interviews and prototype testing to be conducted.
- Establish a robust rhythm of research that unifies quantitative and qualitative data to ultimately boost user retention and satisfaction.
- Partner with Engineering, Product, and Design (EPD) to refine research questions, and recruit and schedule participants for research studies depending on the research needs.
- Translate research findings into actionable insights (through written summaries and presentations) that EPD and leadership can use to inform product development and improvements.
- Demonstrate exceptional research skills and an enthusiasm for experimentation, data, and systems thinking.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years of user research experience, including surveys and focus group facilitation
- Basic operating knowledge of SQL and proficiency integrating UXR tools and systems with AWS
- Self-Motivated: Willingness to roll up your sleeves to source and close your own deals within a short timeframe.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Independence: Ability to independently manage your sales pipeline without micro-management.
- Adaptability: Flexible and excited about change; comfortable with evolving messaging and product offerings in a fast-growing environment.
- Attention to Detail: Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Passion for Mental Health: Genuine interest in mental health and supporting professionals in the industry.
