AppMarket is Client's platform designed to empower financial institutions to easily extend their core functionalities and launch new customer experiences by providing access to a wide array of third-party applications and services. With AppMarket, financial institutions can browse, connect, and manage integrated applications, creating modern banking ecosystems that meet the evolving needs of their customers.

Role Overview

We are seeking a talented and passionate UX Designer to join our AppMarket team. As a UX Designer, you will play a key role in designing and creating intuitive, visually appealing user experiences for our AppMarket platform. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker with excellent design skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to balance user needs with business goals. You should have the ability to lead projects independently, make strategic design decisions, mentor junior designers, and possess a powerful ability to leverage storytelling to influence change and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, frontend/backend engineers, designers, dev/cloud ops engineers, and UX researchers to understand project goals, user requirements, and technical constraints…and then ideate, define, and integrate explorations into product experiences.
  • Communication and Influence: Effectively communicate design ideas and concepts to cross-functional teams and stakeholders, ensuring alignment and driving decision-making through powerful storytelling.
  • Human-Centered Design backed by Research: Practice and evangelize a user- centered iterative design process, leveraging design research and user testing techniques to drive and validate design decisions. You will conduct user research and incorporate user feedback into design iterations. Collaborate with UX researchers to conduct usability testing and gather insights to improve the user experience.
  • Ideation and Design Artifacts: Apply various ideation methods to generate design artifacts that clearly communicate their intended goals or purposes.
  • Interaction and Visual Design: Produce and test interaction flows and mocks, ensuring that designs reflect a visual design language or brand guidelines with a masterful use of typography, color, grid, and composition.
  • Technical Understanding: Understand responsive app design for web or mobile environments
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices in UX design and technology, and contribute to the evolution and improvement of the design process within the team.

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of proven experience in balancing high-level, strategic design work with more routine, iterative/production-oriented design.
  • Ability to work at all facets of design: interaction, visual, research, content, and experience.
  • Experience in research interviewing, usability testing, competitive C comparative analysis, contextual inquiry.
  • Experience with design tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Experience in design storyboarding, wireframing, prototyping, personas/archetypes, heuristic evaluation, information architecture.
  • Team player with high energy and a proactive mindset.
  • Analytical, troubleshooting/problem-solving skills, and the ability to triage issues, react well to changes, and collaborate with other team members.
  • Must be an effective multi-tasker comfortable working on multiple products and projects.

Additional

  • Some experience with e-commerce, shopping/product selection, and/or matchmaking/membership experiences.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies.
  • Experience in working in mid- to large-size software development environments.
  • Experience with Atlassian products, such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Understanding of HTML, CSS, SCSS, JavaScript, React.js.
  • Familiarity with using APIs.

Education: Preferred education level: Master’s degree in Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Design and Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
