The Role
Sea Machines is a fast-growing startup that is leading the new high-tech sector of autonomous technology for marine vessels. We are passionate about applying practical A.I. to the massive global ocean transportation market. Our products provide ships and workboats the intelligence to work remotely and give maritime operators the tools to effectively communicate with them. Based in Boston and operating globally, the company is crewed by an experienced team of mariners, engineers, coders, and autonomy scientists.

Job Summary
We are seeking a USV Project Manager who will be responsible for the Project Management, planning, coordination and execution, of the Sea Machines USV Products. The role requires working closely with Engineering, Operations and Sales/Marketing teams to perfect and advance the products, collecting and analyzing feedback from customers, and providing onsite Global customer training.

 
Primary Objectives
  • Serve as the USV product line technical expert
  • Develop and own relationships with key suppliers of our USVs serve as the conduit of technical information for Sea Machines supply chain for customer facing engagement.
  • Provide commissioning/product start up support
  • Create and drive process for customer acceptance and product handover.
  • Support Sea Machines internal product testing/evaluation efforts, (Component, Simulation & Field)
  • Execute USV, SM300, and AI-ris field demonstrations and organize SM participation for sea trial events and exercises with customers
  • Lead and manage efforts to create product manuals and technical bulletins
  • Monitor the landscape for Federal business opportunities and requirements for programs
  • Work with internal teams to establish and validate product requirements.
  • Provide back up support to sales & marketing for promotional events
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • US Citizen with 10 years experience working with fast paced marine projects and technical products.  
  • Expert knowledge of marine vessels, navigation equipment and vessel systems.
  • Experience and knowledgeable of US Government customer base for boats and boat operations
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Marine Studies, or extensive “At Sea” time in a leadership role.
  • Eagerness to travel on average, 30-60%. Domestically and Internationally
  • Tier one writing and presentation skills, and able to maximize use of MS Office capabilities.
  • Experience with marine industry software, USV offerings, Captain’s Credentials and possession of active security clearances are all favorable
