About the Opportunity
The Relational Agents Group at Northeastern University is an academic research laboratory that develops computer animated conversational agents that simulate face-to-face conversation between people. These agents are used primarily in health education applications across a wide range of platforms and medical interventions, most recently to promote COVID-19 vaccination on smartphones.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
We are seeking an individual whose primary responsibility is to maintain and extend an existing graphical user interface in the Unity game engine, including a significant codebase of C# software for procedural animation, media playback, and networking. This individual will: 1) integrate new models and animations; 2) develop and implement new methods for human figure rendering and animation; 3) support multiple developers and development efforts by maintaining a common code base and derivative builds in a source control system; 4) support development efforts across desktop, web, and mobile implementations; and 5) provide training and instruction for students and staff to develop applications using the interface.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A baccalaureate degree in computer science or related technical field, or five years’ professional 3D game development experience is required. A minimum of two years’ Unity and C# experience is required. Experience in human figure animation, procedural animation, and/or character modeling and rigging, are plusses, but not required. Experience working in team environments and in research environments are plusses.
