Overview of Position
Plans, organizes, leads, controls and coordinates the day-to-day activities of associates involved in providing services in hazard outsourcing, specifically around Hazard insurance financial transactions with checks, wires, or reports relating to disbursement issuance.
Springfield OH Assurant office on site presence is essential and required.
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
Supervises day-to-day responsibilities of team of associates working in secure environment with checks / wires representing escrow funds for Hazard functions.
Ability to identify and resolve any issues with checks or balancing issues with deposits prior to submission to carrier or client.
Ability to maintain extreme security controls around checks and check stock with no deviation from established procedures.
Participates in and encourages the development of short / long term goals and plans for work group.
Ensures that controls exist to monitor existing performance for all department assignments and functions. Manages financial risk to the clients and Assurant by effectively managing controls to prevent losses and poor customer support. Identify root cause, implement controls to prevent / minimize future occurrences.
Ensures appropriate / available tools, supplies, and facilities that are necessary to perform core functions and responsibilities exist for all associates in department.
Provide coaching and direction to all associates within immediate department and larger departments that promote continued improvement in performance in the areas of attendance, work hours, quality, production, and operational effectiveness.
Recruit the best possible candidates with skills and experience needed to support departmental functions.
Leverage high performing associates to support critical roles within work group.
Able to maintain a variety of service level objectives within span of control.
Continually challenge staff to improve / increase skills and operational knowledge.
Promote individual and team development and cohesive participation to achieve department / operational objectives that are within work groups.
Participate with analysis and resolution of operational problems, process improvements that cover other areas outside of span of control including but not limited to disbursement errors from escrow accounts.
What are the requirements needed for this position?
Bachelor’s degree and / or equivalent work experience is required.
A minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience is required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Basic workflow management tools.Well-developed interpersonal skills promoting team participation with assigned staff.
Motivational methods to improve and develop assigned staff.
Ability to engage co-workers and peers in cross-functional teams.
Multi-task and perform multiple goals/objectives.
Ability to interact and collaborate with internal teams, Directors, Operations Managers, Unit Managers, Leads, Trainers and Associates as well as external Client representatives, local vendors, homeowners, insurance companies and agents.
Basic computer office skills including use of computer, telephone, calculator, fax machine and copier.
Technical skills to include MS Office Suite Products i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, Microsoft Access and PowerPoint.
What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?
2 years of supervisory experience
Working knowledge of Smart flow reports, Mortgage Servicing Systems, DTE, CLEAR and Check 21 software and equipment.

Pay Range:
$42,600.00 - $70,200.00Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
