Position Summary
Key Focus:
-Develop and design complex batch workflows in order to support application functional batch workflows.
- Customer facing and providing information and training to Customers.
- Able to build new schedules and jobs which are in line with client Scheduling Best Practices.
- Able to make recommendations to Customers on how a job should be scheduled using IWS batch workflow designs best practices.
- Make changes to existing jobs streams and jobs as requested.
- Expert usage of the TDWC.
- Expert understanding of batch workflow and automation Best Practices.
- Able to give Customers expert advice and training on using the TDWC and Best Practices.
- Expert ability to troubleshoot and recognize issues with the daily plan. (i.e., why a job did not start, etc.).
- Makes recommendations for improvements to Scheduling Best Practices and policies & procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support on all batch scheduling changes. Coordinate and implement batch scheduling on new and existing projects for the QA/Development and Production environments.
- Provide functional L3 product support and technical troubleshooting for scheduling software.
- Enforces adherence to existing production support operational readiness standards.
- Maintaining focus on customer satisfaction through process improvement, workflow automation, and two-way communications.
- Assist in operations architecture, including event monitoring.
- Assist with the migration for TWS into an AWS environment.
- Familiarity automated workload management and monitoring
- Assist in identifying infrastructure during build process in AWS.
- Create technical approach for production batch scheduling of multiple distributed applications.
- Identify technical, infrastructure, procedural issues and coordinate batch scheduling needs.
- Build/develop custom job templates
- Provide direct support on all batch-scheduling changes. Coordinate and implement batch scheduling on new and existing projects for the all environments.
- Experience in creating and maintaining operational run books for distributed batch operations
- Provide functional product support for Scheduling Software.
- Provide basic troubleshooting of problems. Escalate accordingly.
- Enforces adherence to existing production support operational readiness standards.
- Maintaining focus on customer satisfaction through process improvement, workflow automation, and two-way communications.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education
- MCA, BCA, BTech - Computers or Engineering
Experience
- 6 years total experience and at least 3 years of Administration and Operations experience with IBM Workload Scheduler (Maestro/TWS) or similar
- Proficient in the technical capabilities of scheduling
- Strong customer service focus and written communication skills
- Understanding of Incident, Problem and Change processes & controls
Knowledge and skills (general and technical)
- Experience in developing and supporting system management tools to deploy, configure and monitor servers and services.
- Understanding of Windows and Linux environment
Other Requirements (licenses, certifications, specialized training - if required)
- Any programing language is a plus.
