We welcome motivated and academically driven risk management college students local to Tampa, Florida or Holmdel, NJ to participate in our intensive 10-week Summer Preferred Property Program Internship. This unparalleled opportunity is specially crafted for early-career professionals eager to explore the world of underwriting.
Our program is designed for those who share our dedication and passion for underwriting and insurance. We prioritize the professional development of our interns, investing significantly in their potential. As part of our comprehensive underwriting program, you will be introduced to our technology, people and processes, as well as immerse yourselves in our culture.
In addition to interacting with top C-suite professionals during intern enrichment sessions, you will also get the unique chance to take part in mentorship opportunities, learn industry insights and gain practical hands-on experience through shadowing professionals within our dynamic underwriting team.
Responsibilities:
Engage fully in our 10-week comprehensive learning program designed to provide a deep understanding of underwriting and insurance. Over the course of the internship program, you will get hands-on experience as an UW, the ability to work on projects and assignments, and applying your theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios. Other responsibilities include:
1. Pull requested loss runs for accounts and send them to the broker.
2. Create a detailed step-by-step guide for processes in our systems.
3. Complete non-monetary endorsements such as mailing address changes.
4. Assist team members with tasks such as billing and entering risk information into rater for quoting purposes.
5. Shadow team members in every department to learn the business and workflow.
Requirements:
1. A demonstrated passion for risk management and insurance.
2. Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
3. The ability to work well in a team and collaborate with various levels of the organization.
4. The capacity to work independently while fostering a positive group dynamic.
