Underwriting Associate
$18.83 minimum starting pay
Job Level: Individual Contributor
Shelter maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in geographic location, education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. Please remember that this is the minimum starting base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position.
What You Will Be Doing:
Review and analyze policy submissions and updates, and agents' and policyholders' transactions. Responsible for accurate and timely handling of requested policy transactions consistent with underwriting guidelines and procedures. Communicate with agents and policyholders regarding policy changes, rates and underwriting procedures. Serve as subject matter expert to resolve problems with policy issuance, policy updates and policy rating.

- Superior customer service skills
- Above average knowledge of math calculations
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in operating computer, calculator, telephone and fax machine
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without a reasonable accommodation
