Underwriting Assistant

Job Description:

The Aviation Underwriting Assistant I role supports the aviation underwriting department by managing multiple email inboxes, entering requests into the underwriting system, and handling a variety of tasks essential to the smooth operation of the team. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and a commitment to providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.  This role requires an individual who is highly organized and detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities with precision and efficiency.

Job Duties

• Receive, import, assign requests to bind insurance coverage.

• Receive, import, assign insurance policy endorsement requests.

• Receive, import, assign insurance policy cancellation requests.

• Complete (daily) non-critical tasks such as documentation follow up, renewal quote follow up, new business quote follow up.

• Receive, import, assign policy documentation.  Review for missing information and discrepancies.  Obtain information/clarification from producing agent.
• Additional duties, tasks, and projects may be assigned as necessary to meet the needs of the business.

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills: 

• 1-2 years experience in in a business environment.
• Adapt quickly to new technologies and updates within the work environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills essential.
• Strong organizational and planning skills required.
