The Underwriting Assistant will assist in the issuance of policies and documenting files in the policy operating system and support the underwriting team with correspondence, notes and documents.

This role is an in-office position in our Red Bank, NJ office. 

Responsibilities:

  • Support retail agents in gathering information/documents using tasks/reminders and Outlook. 
  • Inspection ordering, review and discrepancy/recommendation handling
  • Processing cancellation and Reinstatement Notices
  • Processing Pre-Audit Correspondence; Closed Even Audits and Premium Bearing Audits
  • Claims reporting and confirmations
  • Processing all endorsements
  • Gradually learn the renewal quote process in development of underwriting skills for the future 

Requirements: 

  • Bachelors Degree or Equivalent experience preferred or relevant experience. 
  • Insurance background and/or experience preferred with emphasis on Commercial P&C experience. 
  • Strong customer service skills to our internal and external customers. 
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work as part of a team and uphold high service standards
  • Familiar with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word and agency management systems

The base salary offered for the successful candidate will be based on compensable factors such as job-relevant education, job-relevant experience, training, licensure, demonstrated competencies, geographic location, and other factors. Discretionary incentive compensation may be awarded.
