You will work directly with capacity providers, finance, and data engineering teams to influence high-level business performance, lead reserving and profit share calculations, and deliver direct commercial impact.
Unlike traditional analytics roles that operate in technical silos, this position offers direct commercial visibility and strategic influence across our business. You will not only modernise our underwriting technology alongside data engineers and mentor junior talent, but you will also present key claims and sales trends directly to senior leadership and external partners.As one of our Underwriting Analyst’s, you’ll:
  • Evaluate insurance product metrics to uncover underlying trends in claims and sales performance.

  • Design and maintain accurate self-service data tools so the MGA team can access critical insights easily.

  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive monthly management information and performance reports to external capacity providers.

  • Calculate reserving requirements and profit share metrics in close collaboration with finance teams.

  • Partner with data engineering to ensure incoming data streams are accurate, timely, and fit for purpose.

  • Translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable recommendations while coaching and developing junior colleagues.

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in insurance data analytics with a solid understanding of underwriting metrics.  

  • Highly proficient with SQL, Excel, and data visualisation tools such as Tableau or Power BI.  

  • Able to manipulate large datasets and spot key anomalies or trends with exceptional attention to detail.

  • A skilled communicator who can break down complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

  • Self-motivated and collaborative, with the capability to coach team members and build strategic relationships across teams.

  • Progressing towards or has completed relevant qualifications, such as CII, Actuarial, or a Master's degree in Data Analytics or Statistics.
