Our Waihi Operation in the North Island of New Zealand is an underground operation. A recent consent to develop the previous Martha mine has provided our project with an extension of life providing our 350 staff and contractors, and the people of Waihi, an assurance that we plan to be here for the long-term.

Operational

To be able to competently perform, at a minimum, the roles of:

• Charge up operations
• Loader operation
• Jumbo operation
• Solo operation

Safety

Perform all work and associated functions safely:

• Correctly use all PPE
• Obey all written and verbal health and safety instructions
• Establish and maintain the highest possible standards of housekeeping and cleanliness in individual work area and mine site in general
• Attend pre-shift safety and tool box safety meetings;
• Complete Stop-Think and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) prior to undertaking tasks;
• Report all incidents and near misses and workplace hazards;
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) specified for particular equipment or tasks and be involved in the development and review/revision of procedures when required.

Other

• Carry out all other duties that may reasonably be required.

• Required qualifications/certificates relating to the operational competencies.
• Full and Current Driver Licence, ability to drive manual vehicles is essential.

Experience

• A minimum of 5 years underground metalliferous mining experience in development and production techniques
• An excellent safety record
• High standards of housekeeping
• Mentoring, coaching and training experience would be an advantage

Other Criteria:

Satisfactory results from the prescribed medical examination and physical appraisal which may indicate fitness and ability to carry out prescribed tasks to required performance and safety standards.

Production of a satisfactory security clearance.
