Schedule | Hours:

  • Full-time, 32 hour per week
  • Variable shift
  • Every other weekend
  • Holiday rotation

What you will do:

  • Performs all ultrasound techniques and examinations including abdomen, retroperitoneal, obstetrical, gynecological, intracavitary, head/neck and extremity scans.
  • Performs vascular ultrasound studies including Doppler examinations of veins and arteries in any location of the body.
  • Assists in performing interventional ultrasound examinations including biopsies, amniocentesis, paracentesis , thoracentesis and various drainage procedures.
  • Observes the patient during procedures and reports any unusual occurrences to appropriate personnel.
  • Processes image data and evaluates the images for technical quality before submitting them for interpretation.
  • Provides additional non-image data or documentation required for proper examination interpretation.
  • Secures all necessary supplies to maintain a prudent inventory level for patient care.
  • Has knowledge of and practices patient care protocols appropriate to the physical, developmental and psychological needs of all age groups.
  • Enhances professional growth and development by participating in educational programs, workshops, current literature and inservice meetings.  Obtains the necessary continuing education credits to maintain current licensure.
  • Assists with other Medical Imaging procedures, within the scope of his/her license, as required.
  • Assists in placing Ultrasound associated charges when necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

What you will need:

  • A High School graduate and a graduate of an AMA approved school of Ultrasound or an equivalent amount of education.
  • Valid current Ultrasound license/certificate. An RDMS registration through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers is the recognized standard or Registration or certification through another Medical Imaging modality such as the ARRT and one (1) or two (2) years of intense Ultrasound training and experience or with intent on taking Board Exams within a 1 year period.
  • Must have the ability to successfully complete general orientation and the clinical skills guides of an Ultrasound Technologist.
  • Must have current BLS certification.

Skills Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
