Essential Responsibilities:

  • Performs studies accurately and efficiently in an effort to meet established turn-around times.
  • Prepares reports for physician interpretation and ensures quality images are available for interpreting physician.
  • Provides age appropriate care, anticipates patient/family needs, comfort and safety and assists with exceeding customer expectations.
  • Experience performing abdominal, obstetrical, gynecological, pediatric, small parts and vascular studies
  • Participates with patient transportation.
  • Assists with regulatory/accrediting agencies to insure departmental compliance.
  • Performs department surveys and quality control on equipment and reports variances for service.
  • Responds to on-call coverage in a professional manner and available in 1 hour.
  • Act in accordance with the established mission, vision, and values.
  • Abide by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI).
  • Maintain effective communication and professional working relationships with patients/clients and their representatives, team members, contractors, physicians, peers, outside agencies, and the public.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience

  • Associates degree from a two-year college or technical school in Ultrasound or higher

Required License/Certifications/Registrations

  • Must be a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS).
  • Must be a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), (VS) Vascular Sonography
  • Must be credentialed in Abdomen (AB) and OB/GYN.
  • Current BLS card within 30 days of hire or by the end of orientation, whichever comes first. Acceptable courses are American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years clinical experience post-graduation

Preferred License/Certifications/Registrations

  • none

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of Ultrasound diagnostic techniques, treatment and education.
  • Strong skills in using software such as Excel, Word, EMR Systems, etc.
  • Medical terminology.
  • Superb organization skills, follow-through and attention to detail

  • Light Work: Occasionally exerting up to 25 lbs - frequently exerting up to 10 lbs. 11-25% of the day may be standing or walking.
