Overview
The Ultrasound Technologist will perform a wide range of ultrasound exams, such as general ultrasound, breast, OB/GYN, and other ultrasound exams on incoming patients. The Ultrasound Technologist responds to patient questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and processes, while maintaining appropriate confidentiality regarding personal health information. The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for daily operations of the ultrasound lab, patient schedule, equipment maintenance, the report of equipment failures, and quality assessment (QA). The Ultrasound Technologist always maintains a high standard of medical ethics and is self-motivated to pursue lifelong learning to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease, and new procedures as they evolve.
What you will do
  • Uses imaging equipment and soundwaves to form images for diagnosis. Produces quality images following appropriate protocols and procedures. Provides and maintains clinical documentation per scope of practice.
  • Educates patients/families regarding the procedure to be performed. Explains the procedure and independently performs ultrasound exams on patients following established protocols.
  • Evaluates images for quality. Interprets what image is captured. Presents images and preliminary findings to the physician.
  • Maintains the ultrasound equipment and sterilizes the room. Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements. Troubleshoots and ensures equipment functionality.
  • Monitors and maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and material to ensure non-interruption of services.
  • Understands and adheres to all applicable regulatory and accrediting standards. Follows RHS policies and procedures. Reports variances.

Qualifications
Experience
  • Ultrasound experience (Preferred)

Licenses and Certifications
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) RDMS (OB or AB) Upon Hire(Required) or
  • Radiologic Technologists - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Sonography (S or BS) Upon Hire(Required) and
  • CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire(Required)
  • Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) CCI (RVS)  Upon Hire(Preferred)
