Role and Responsibilities
The primary purpose of this role is to provide comprehensive and constructive legal support, as Legal Business Partner, to internal teams and senior management within Mundipharma’s UK and German commercial businesses. This role involves representing the company competently to internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to, works council, business partners, competitors, law firms, authorities, and associations, and working to identify, mitigate and manage legal risks.
Legal Advisory and Representation:
Provide strategic, practical and solutions-focused legal advice to internal teams and senior management.
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, relating to the UK and German commercial business activities, but also include international agreements where business need exists.
Ensure fulfillment (with input of external experts, where necessary) of required corporate secretarial actions relating to company filings, records and management of signatories, in particular with respect to the DE business.
Manage litigation (with external input, where necessary) and conduct legal research on various issues affecting the company.
Address employment disputes (with external input, where necessary) and other legal issues affecting the organization.
Provide input and advice in respect of other general and commercial legal matters as required.
Legal Oversight:
Collaborate with the global legal team to ensure provision of consistent and quality legal advice across Mundipharma’s UK and German commercial businesses.
Contribute to the review, updating, and improvement of procedures to ensure compliance with relevant pharmaceutical and other regulations, including anti-corruption, competition law, pharmaceutical regulatory, and data protection law.
Stay updated on relevant DE, UK and EU pharmaceutical law, controlled drug regulations and data privacy requirements.
Provide legal input into corporate projects and advise on other legal matters as required.
Other Legal Responsibilities:
Develop internal guidelines and template contracts for use within the UK and DE businesses, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
Conduct training sessions for employees on various legal matters, where business need arises.
Lead and participate in legal team and cross-functional business projects.
Share knowledge and collaborate with team members and functional stakeholders to ensure consistent legal advice and best practice across the UK and DE organizations.
What you’ll bring
Qualification as DE or UK lawyer
At least 2-3 years of post-qualification experience in private practice or a legal department (support UK or DE businesses.
Expertise in Data Protection Law, Commercial and Corporate Law, and Competition Law as applicable in UK and DE.
Experience preferably in the pharmaceutical industry or a law firm specializing in pharmaceutical law.
Pragmatic and solutions-focused
Confident and credible, demonstrating a proven track record of commitment and achievement.
Personable with the ability to cultivate strong working relationships across all levels of the organization
Strong influencing skills, fostering collaboration, diplomacy, and effective communication
Self-motivated and results-oriented, demonstrating initiative in goal achievement, process optimization, and operational efficiency, with a strong sense of accountability
Possesses analytical and organizational skills to effectively manage tasks and projects
Takes pride in delivering high-quality work, whilst managing a challenging workload and prioritizing work output in line with business and legal needs.
Exercises good judgement and is willing to challenge the status quo when necessary
Fluent in both German and English, both written and spoken, to facilitate effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
