What you will be doing:

• Design and digitize high quality letterforms, kerning and writing basic OpenType features.
• Achieve high quality standards with few reworks, act as a resource for editing others’ work
• Once trained – effectively utilize type development tools with little supervision to achieve desired requirements in the timeframe expected
• Participate in client meetings and present work in public presentations
• Assume additional responsibilities as needed to support internal and external customers
• Adhere to established departmental procedures and meet scheduled deadlines
• Effectively communicate with necessary support groups (Engineering, Product Marketing, Technical Support and Sales) to meet customer requirements and technical specifications
• Work on multiple projects keeping priorities in clear perspective

What we’re looking for:

• Bachelor’s or equivalent experience with 3-5 years’ experience in a design environment
• Must be fluent in written and spoken Portuguese
• A portfolio representing type design and/or lettering proficiency  
• Thorough understanding of letter proportions and well-crafted design
• Knowledge of non-Roman script design preferred but not required (i.e. Arabic, Cyrillic, Greek, Indic)
• Strong technical communication skills including the ability to write clearly and precisely
• Proficiency in GlyphsApp. If you are a FontLab or Robofont user you will be given time to train and adapt.
• Proficiency in Mac operating systems, Microsoft Office applications and Adobe’s Creative Suite.
