JOB FUNCTION / SUMMARY:
Responsible for direct sales of new treasury management services, expansion of existing business relationships, and the retention of customers. Typically handles the largest and most significant corporate treasury management client and activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Contacts prospective customers in order to develop new treasury management business.
- Meets periodically with existing customers to ensure proper servicing of accounts and to expand existing business relationships.
- Prepares sales presentations, explains services offered, and recommends those services which would be of value to the customer.
- Ensures that company banking officers are aware of treasury management sales activities and assists officers in promoting the treasury management sales program.
- Assists in designing and ensuring proper installation of treasury management services.
- Assists sales management in developing a marketing strategy and in setting sales objectives.
- Assists management in developing new services or modifying existing services.
- Calls on potential or existing customers and introduces customers to other departments when a service can be rendered.
- Represents bank in civic, community, and industry activities as required.
- Keeps abreast of industry trends and regulations; identifies changes affecting the department and takes appropriate action, notifies staff of internal operation changes.
- May be responsible for maintaining staffing levels, training, evaluating, counseling and managing staff. May mentor less experienced staff.
- May manage or assist manager with budget management including tracking expenses and reporting variances.
- Responsible for controlling operating and administrative expenses.
- Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Incumbent is required to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local banking and industry related laws and regulations including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
May manage or oversee junior-level sales specialist positions.
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:
- College degree in Marketing, Finance, Management, or Business Administration from an accredited university or equivalent work experience; A degree in Marketing or Finance preferred
- 7+ years of cash management sales and service experience
- 7 years of business development experience
- Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) or equivalent credential, or upon employment incumbent will work toward certification
- Advanced knowledge of treasury management sales, services and regulatory guidelines
- Advanced knowledge of treasury management functions
- Thorough knowledge of bank products, services, and operations
- Thorough knowledge of finance and business principles
- Working knowledge of regulatory guidelines
ESSENTIAL MENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines
