Treasury Operations Senior Analyst

Job Summary

Treasury Operations is the center of excellence, with in-depth knowledge of banking payment and collection infrastructure and processes. Treasury Operations is responsible for providing support and subject matter expertise to our Asia Business Units, to support the full array of operational activities including cheque deposit and payment, incoming and outgoing wire transfers, payment exception handling and cash forecasting & positioning. 

The position performs cash management administrative functions such as but not limited to cash forecasting, cash positioning, payment initiation, in achieving the daily SLAs and time cut-offs, accuracy targets and the operational goals and objectives of the team. The incumbent is responsible for monitoring and executing time sensitive transactions and respond to queries from internal stakeholders, troubleshooting and resolving any issues during the daily process, ensuring all start of day, end of day and month end activities are completed within the designated time frame.

Role and Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the GBS Treasury Operations Team Leader, this role is responsible for the daily execution of all Cash Management Operations tasks for Singapore Business Unit with focus on BAU tasks. This role will also support various projects of Asia Treasury Operations to deliver the transformation goals and objectives of the team.

• The Treasury Operations Senior Analyst will work with Group Treasury and BUs focusing on liquidity management, non-technical cash management enhancement, various analytics and insights, and banking relationship management to realize best practice in Treasury in every aspect.

• Daily sending of bills payments collection – To inform operations team for all premium collections for take-in.

• Daily updating of bank statements – To ensure that all Manulife Singapore bank statement reports are updated with accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.

• Daily extracting of CAS reports – To pull system reports and sanitize according to the reconciliation requirements.

• Daily Reconciliation – To match the premiums collected in CAS against the funds received in the banks and investigate variances.

• Daily Fund Sighting – To inform Operations Team with regards to Daily Collection

• Profiling CAS vs. BANK variances – To communicate the variances to operations team for adjustments and monitoring if corrections are reflected in the system.

• Answering email inquiries – To answer fund sighting inquiries and other necessary processing adjustments.

• Refunds – To prepare refund letters that require to be returned to source.

• Bounced Cheques – To profile bounced cheque reports to operations team and monitor adjustments.

• Special Month End – Additional tasks performed on Month-end closing such as Reconciliation of the Special Arrangement Funds and Adjustments Checking, extracting bank charge reports, downloading of bank statement monthly reports)

• Support the Asia Cash Management Operations Team Leader in the execution of Transformation and Advisory projects.

Qualifications:

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business-related courses

• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in Finance or Treasury Operations

• Has strong attention to details

• Ability to work in ambiguous environment and adapt to change while managing time and workload

• Experience using a treasury management system is an asset – Infor AP, CB, CTM, eTreasury and Kyriba

• Experience using on-line banking applications is required

• Ability to connect the dots between different sources of information to investigate variances and explain the reason for the observed differences using the treasury management system and other sources of information.

• Attention to detail and ability to react quickly and respond to problems within tight deadlines. 

• Proactive – willing to identify issues, ask questions, recommend alternative solutions and implement the agreed upon solution.

• Team player and ability to work as a team within a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and critical functions that demand a high level of accuracy. 

• Exposure to Automation projects is an advantage
