Tate & Lyle Global Shared Services Centre in Łódź is the principal location for handling the business support activities and processes for Tate & Lyle, both transactional as well as value-added business partnering support. Starting operations in 2011 with less than 50 people, we now have over 350 employees supporting operations globally. We have 30 teams operating in Łódź to provide service in the areas of Finance, Customer Service, Procurement, HR/People Services, and IS/IT

Role Purpose

This individual will take a important role in accounting for the Group’s central treasury company (Tate & Lyle International Finance PLC, “TLIF”) and in reporting on and monitoring the overall financing position of TLIF and the Group.  They will also play a key role in preparing the Group’s external disclosures on key treasury related accounting notes.

The role provides an excellent opportunity for a motivated self-starter to develop a career in either Group Reporting or Group Treasury in the future with regular opportunities to work with senior stakeholders in the organization. In particular the nature of this role provides a great insight into all areas of the business, and provides an ideal platform to progress.

The Opportunity

On a daily basis, you will be able to demonstrate your analytical and accounting experience and also use your strong communication skills and commitment to providing quality service in supporting Group Finance and Group Treasury teams.

The main responsibilities of the role are:

• Prepare and review monthly accounting information for Group Treasury and Group Finance ensuring;

• All significant balance sheet accounts are reconciled;

• Reasonableness checks are performed for all significant income and expense accounts, including foreign exchange gains and losses;

• Work with Group Finance and Group Treasury to devise appropriate assumptions for budgets and forecasts and prepare the group accounting submission;

• Analyze variances which arise between budgets, forecasts and actuals and through discussions with group companies provide explanations in conjunction with Group Treasury;

• Prepare monthly financial instrument valuations;

• Maintenance of accounting and posting rules for all treasury transactions in the treasury management system;

• Maintenance of batch jobs for automatic distribution of IBC statements across company;

• Ensuring reconciliations and reporting of bank accounts and intra-group balances with TLIF are properly performed;

• Preparing delivery of the monthly Group Treasury management information pack with Group Finance;

• Preparation with Group Finance and Group Treasury of key sections and disclosure in the Group’s published financial statements and notes, including IFRS7, net debt, interest and financial instrument disclosures;

• Preparation with Group Finance TLIF statutory accounts and the year-end audit;

• Identifying efficiency improvements through constant review of process and systems

Who we are looking for

You will bring a strong background in accounting to support Group Treasury and have a strong desire to become a treasury accounting specialist while demonstrating the initiative to work independently.

• 3 years of experience in SSC/BPO

• Working in operational finance function

• Proven accounting experience (knowledge of International Financial Accounting Standards is a bonus)

• Advance MS office

• Organised self-starter

• Proven ability to meet deadlines
