Treasury Analyst & Project Lead

The location for this role is flexible within Africa, with a strong preference for one of Enko Education's countries of operation.
Enko Education is a fast-growing network of African International Schools operating across 11 African countries. Our mission is to increase access to world-class education for talented learners across the continent.

We are currently launching a strategic milestone: the creation and deployment of our Shared Service Centre (SSC) to centralize our treasury, finance, and accounts payable operations. In this context, the Group Treasury Analyst & Project Lead is a foundational hire. You will join a lean, agile team at a unique corporate moment—a stage where processes and structures are being built, shaped, and deployed from scratch, not just inherited.

Your Mission

Directly reporting to the Group Treasurer, your mission is dual: owning the daily group corporate treasury operations and actively driving the implementation of our new Shared Service Centre framework.

As a master of cash management and a structured project builder, you will guarantee data integrity across our multi-country operations, manage liquidity forecasting, and ensure flawless treasury controls. You won’t just manage numbers; you will act as a key change agent and the operational gatekeeper of our financial infrastructure.

This is a highly entrepreneurial corporate finance role designed for a proactive analyst with a "builder" mindset who thrives on ownership, structural design, and cross-functional collaboration.

Core Responsibilities1. SSC Implementation & Project Management
  • Framework Deployment: Actively support the Group Treasurer in designing, documenting, and implementing the workflows, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the new Shared Service Centre.
  • Process Optimization: Identify structural gaps in local school reporting, propose agile optimization solutions, and drive the transition toward centralized treasury standards.
  • Change Management: Act as a central point of contact to ensure smooth onboarding and training of local School Finance Partners into the new centralized systems.
2. Cash Flow Forecasting & Liquidity Management
  • Model Ownership: Lead and manage the 12-week rolling cash flow forecast for all schools and holding entities.
  • Data Integrity & Gatekeeping: Review financial submissions from School Finance Partners, actively challenging assumptions and pushing back on inconsistencies to ensure absolute data quality.
  • Cash Committee Leadership: Prepare and co-lead the weekly cash meeting pack (covering group cash positions, actual vs. forecast variances, accounts payable ageing highlights, and proposed payment runs).
3. Debt Management & Compliance
  • Master Schedule Oversight: Maintain and reconcile the Master Debt Schedule against Xero and underlying loan agreements (tracking principal repayments, interest schedules, and maturities).
  • Lender Relations Support: Ensure all debt service obligations are seamlessly integrated into liquidity forecasts and assist in preparing lender reporting packs.
4. Treasury Controls & Governance
  • Mandate Repository: Maintain a pristine, up-to-date central register of every Enko bank account, authorized signatory, and corporate limit across all jurisdictions.
  • Compliance: Review all new bank account opening packs for compliance and accuracy before formal corporate submission.
The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a "Hands-on Strategist" who balances deep analytical rigor with the agility and project management skills needed to build a function from the ground up.

  • Your Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in corporate treasury, financial analysis, or an analytical corporate finance role, ideally coupled with exposure to project management or Shared Service Centre implementations.
  • Project Management Skills: Highly structured, organized, and capable of setting up processes, documenting workflows, and managing transition timelines.
  • Technical Savvy: Advanced mastery of Excel / Google Sheets is non-negotiable. Experience with cloud accounting ecosystems (such as Xero) is highly expected.
  • Languages: Full professional proficiency in both English and French is required. Operating in a multicultural and multilingual environment, you must be fully comfortable leading technical discussions, writing reports, and collaborating with stakeholders in both languages.
  • The "Ownership" Mindset: You completely own your numbers. You possess the emotional intelligence and communication skills needed to confidently defend forecast assumptions, handle pushbacks, and challenge senior school stakeholders.
  • Geographical Flexibility: Exposure to African banking landscapes, local FX constraints, and multi-country environments is a significant asset.
Why Join Us?
  • Direct Visibility & Impact: Work hand-in-hand with the Group Treasurer with direct visibility from the CFO, offering an unparalleled learning curve early in your career.
  • Blank Canvas: A rare opportunity to help build a centralized treasury function from scratch within a fast-growing multi-country group.
  • Mission with Purpose: Contribute to a value-driven organization that is genuinely transforming the future of education across the African continent.
Our Recruitment Process
  1. Culture Fit Interview: To align on our mission, culture, and values.
  2. Technical Case Study: A practical exercise focused on cash forecasting logic, variance analysis, and problem-solving.
  3. Technical Interview: A deep dive into treasury fundamentals, debt schedules, and your vision for the role with the Group Treasurer.
  4. Career Interview: A discussion centered around your professional trajectory and long-term ambitions.
  5. Welcome to Enko!
