What We're Looking For:
Michael Baker is seeking a Travel Manager to oversee the daily operations of our corporate travel department. This role will align and update travel policies across the enterprise, manage the department budget, and ensure that everything runs smoothly and meets company standards. The manager will further streamline procedures, assist in choosing the most desirable vendors, and review how vendors are doing to suggest improvements.
What You'll Do:
- Leads and manages the daily operations of the Corporate Travel Department at one location, ensuring all travel activities run smoothly and support business goals.
- Develops, maintains, and updates travel policies to ensure they are cost-effective and competitive, including regular reviews of vendors and rates.
- Manages the department's budget, tracking spending and finding ways to reduce costs while meeting travel needs.
- Monitors performance metrics, focusing on productivity, cost control, service quality, and meeting department goals.
- Creates and enforces clear and effective procedures, and ensures staff follow best practices for consistent service.
- Takes part in negotiating with vendors, choosing the best partners, and building strong working relationships.
- Reviews vendor performance regularly, suggests improvements, and implements changes to ensure the best value and service.
- Handles other duties as needed to support the department and company objectives.
What You Need to Succeed:
- A minimum of 5–10 years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Proficiency with Egencia is desirable.
- Experience with Worldspan, a leading Global Distribution System (GDS), is also preferred.
Compensation:
The approximate compensation range for this position is $90,000 - $100,000 per year. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
