The Travel Industry Sales Manager is responsible for generating business by identifying, prospecting, and securing individual corporate and travel industry accounts in alignment with the hotel’s sales strategies and annual marketing plan. This role focuses on building strong relationships with key travel partners and driving revenue through targeted direct sales efforts. Success in this position is measured by achieving sales goals and maximizing RevPAR to support the overall success of the hotel. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong sales acumen, capable of working independently and making sound decisions with a high level of discretion.
What you will do:
-Be part of the pre-opening team!
-Prospect, solicit, and secure business from individual corporate and travel industry accounts to achieve targeted revenue goals.
-Manage the full sales cycle including rate negotiation, contracting, and account management to ensure account retention and growth.
-Identify and develop new business opportunities through research, networking, sales calls, and market analysis.
-Build and maintain strong relationships with key travel partners, agencies, and wholesale clients to maximize market share.
-Conduct site inspections and property presentations to effectively communicate hotel offerings and value.
-Lead the annual RFP process for targeted accounts and develop strategic action plans to optimize inclusion and profitability.
-Collaborate with the broader sales and marketing team to align on market strategies and cross-sell opportunities.
-Maintain accurate records and account hygiene in CRM systems, ensuring effective account tracking and reporting.
-Participate in industry and community organizations to represent the hotel and expand business networks.
-Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and business performance to provide insights and recommendations.
-Deliver monthly and quarterly performance updates and contribute to the development of the annual marketing plan.
-Uphold professional standards and represent the hotel brand with integrity and a commitment to exceptional service.
What you bring:
-College degree or equivalent work experience required.
-Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in luxury hotel sales or hotel operations; a proven sales track record is a strong plus.
-Proficiency in computer systems including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Opera, Delphi, and internet-based tools.
-Prior experience in luxury hospitality environments strongly preferred.
-Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
