Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly disciplined and experienced Transport / Logistics Coordinator to support the
daily operations of our fleet, with a focus on efficient transport management of Sino/Howo trucks across
Tanzania and East Africa. The ideal candidate will have a military or police background, strong
knowledge of route mapping, GPS tracking, and the ability to lead and manage driver schedules while
upholding strict operational procedures and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily fleet operations and report directly to the Fleet Manager.
- Prepare and manage daily truck availability, scheduling, and delivery sheets.
- Submit daily progress reports including waybills, delivery notes, and invoices.
- Ensure strict adherence to SOPs, including authorization protocols for truck movement.
- Develop and manage work schedules for all drivers on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Conduct Lock box meetings with drivers to enforce safety protocols and maintain discipline.
- Monitor all truck routes using GPS tracking systems, ensuring alignment with planned schedules
- Support in emergency route planning and rerouting as required.
- Maintain clear communication with drivers and management for operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution (preferably in Logistics, Transport Management,
or related field).
- 5–8 years of proven industry experience managing Sino/Howo trucks.
- Must be from an Ex-Military or Ex-Police background.
- Possession of relevant industrial certifications is an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of route mapping in Tanzania and East Africa.
- Proficient in GPS tracking and vehicle scheduling systems.
- Excellent communication skills in English (both verbal and written).
- Strong computer literacy (MS Office and fleet management software).
- Physically and mentally fit to handle the demands of the role.
- Must present reference letters from previous employers.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- High level of integrity and discipline.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills.
