THE POSITION
The Translation Project Manager of the FIFA27 Language Centre team, and work in close collaboration with FIFA Zurich key collaborators and other key individuals responsible for delivering the most engaging, innovative, multilingual and accessible World Cup experience for all athletes, fans, partners, and the community.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Managing and supervising the translation services provided by the FWWC27 office to all stakeholders
- Handling any issues that arise in connection with the translation services provided by the FWWC27 office or in connection with the FWWC27.
- Planning the language operations for the FWWC27 (pre-tournament and during the competition)
- Reporting on daily business (e. g. requests processed) to the Head of the Language Centre in Zurich
- Ensuring a smooth collaboration and efficient processes between FIFA and the FWWC27 office in connection with the translation services provided
- Identifying and using artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in delivering the language services. Clear focus should be the use of AI to streamline processes and increase productivity
- Strengthening FIFA’s translation vendor network in the Americas if operations require so
- Being the first point of contact for translation requests placed by the FWWC27 team and other FIFA stakeholders
- Handling requests in FIFA’s translation management system
- Allocating resources
- Coordinating large multilingual projects comprised of several requests (CMS/CXM, apps, publications), occasionally managing different teams (developers, graphic designers, desktop publishers)
- Monitoring and controlling translation requests
YOUR PROFILE
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education Bachelor’s degree or similar level of education in translation/localization/language technology studies
- Experience at least five years’ experience as translation/localization project manager working with a state-of-the-art translation management system
- Team player
- Ability to set priorities and work under high pressure
- Openness and interest to learn
- Experience in the sports and/or entertainment industries is a plus
- Native speaker of Brazilian Portuguese, full professional competency in English (written and oral), proficiency in French and/or Spanish is a plus
- At least two years’ experience as a translation/localization project manager working with Trados
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams) and experienced in the use of online planning and collaboration tools
- Experience working in global language teams, with different time zones
Requirements:
- Must have legal right to work in Brazil.
- Ability to relocate and work from Rio de Janeiro
- Required language skills: fluent in English and Portuguese is mandatory, fluent in Spanish is a big plus.
