Overview

Safely transport patients by bed, stretcher or wheelchair to from ancillary departments and patient care areas throughout the hospital. Responds in a timely manner to requests to move/transport other patient related items. Consistently provides superior customer service.

Responsibilities

Safely transports patients by hospital bed, stretcher, or wheelchair to include accurately identifying patient's name, date of birth and medical record number. Identifies and utilizes appropriate resources for complex patient care and transport situations. Complies with all safety policies and guidelines to ensure transport is without incident.

Consistently without exception uses the appropriate hand-off tool (Hall Pass, Ticket-to Ride, or other) to document accurately patient status, location and condition. This includes communication with the bedside nurse, the receiving procedure area staff and the patient's floor staff. Communicates changes, delays and other pertinent information that may impact expected transport itinerary.

Utilizes and completes the designated patient transport log (electronic or other) for the purpose triaging, prioritization and queuing of all transport requests. Productivity or number of transport related activities is within accepted range.

Provide superior customer service, maintain professional appearance and demeanor. Notifies leadership immediately of any incidents that may require service recovery.

Completes other duties as assigned to include the following: assists with all aspects of equipment inventory (beds, stretchers, wheelchairs, O2), Cleaning of all equipment, identifies repairs as needed, maintains order and cleanliness of work area, assists technologists as requested and responds appropriately and timely to all emergency situations.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:High School Diploma or equivalent, Required

EXPERIENCE:0-1 years of experience - Hospital-Patient Care-preferred

ealth care experience preferred

Customer service experience preferred.

Computer experience preferred.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIRED

BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider

PREFERRED
