Job Description

  • Minimum Requirements Armed Officer

     Each Armed Security Officer to be assigned to the account must meet or exceed, at least, one of the following criteria:

    (a) Armed Security Officer or military law enforcement or corrections experience — one (1) year minimum.

    (b) Military experience of four (4) years with an Honorable Discharge.

    (c) Military deployment, combat arms experience of two (2) years, with Honorable Discharge.

    (d) Graduate of a Law Enforcement academy 


Work Environment and Schedule

  • Job operates in client sites which could be indoors or outdoors.
  • Position requires prolonged standing and walking, in the performance of daily security activities.
  • Open availability Nights, Weekends, Holidays and overtime as directed(overtime occurs).
  • Work various shifts and Holidays as assigned.

Expected Responsibilities:

  • Patrol on foot or vehicle observing and maintaining the security protection including at client facilities, stations, bus stops, and at public areas to detect evidence of damage, misuse or theft; issue written warnings, make citizen’s arrests.
  • Prevent the public and unauthorized individuals from entering all restricted areas of Client facilities and right-of-ways.
  • Routinely interface with the riding public, providing general information relative to use of the system and other necessary information.
  • Prepare and submit security reports and provide assistance to investigators as required
  • Participate in Special Enforcement Unit activities to include routine fare inspection sweeps (Compass Cards and paper passes), passenger counts, onboard and in fare paid zones and report accordingly.
  • Respond effectively to all calls for assistance.
  • Must be sensitive to client’s culture and strive to maintain a positive client brand image.
  • Treat Client’s employees, invitees, and guest with the utmost courtesy and respect.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Must possess NV PILB Armed Guard Card
  • Must possess a CPR/First-Aid and Blood Borne Pathogens Certification.
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License
  • Must possess High School education or equivalent
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • May be required to perform emergency duties which require physical exertion such as: standing or walking for an entire shift, climbing stairs, lifting, carrying up to 50lbs. and running.

Skills Required

  • NV PILB Armed Guard Card
  • CPR, First-Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogens Certification
  • Valid Driver's License
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Age 21 years or older
  • Armed security, military law enforcement, or corrections experience (1 year minimum) OR 4 years military service with Honorable Discharge OR 2 years combat arms deployment with Honorable Discharge OR Graduate of a Law Enforcement academy
  • Ability to stand and walk for entire shifts; lift and carry up to 50 lbs; perform physical duties and run if required
