Our underwriting assistants play a vital role in providing first class administrative support for the effective day to day running of our underwriting teams. Supporting the underwriters, team leaders, practice leaders and team head, the role will involve working closely with the other members of the team to ensure the accurate processing and recording of TL information and to help ensure the smooth running of day-to-day operations.
About the role
You’ll support the end-to-end underwriting process from logging and processing submissions on CFC’s underwriting system.
- Providing excellent administrative support primarily to the transaction liability team and other underwriting teams, as required, to ensure CFC can adhere to target turnaround times for our brokers and insureds;
- Managing the underwriting central inboxes and logging submissions on CFC’s internal underwriting system;
- Supporting underwriters by providing general underwriting assistance, including file and document management, and assisting in managing workflow/reporting requirements on CFC’s internal underwriting system
- Working with the existing support functions in CFC to ensure the timely progression of transactions from initial submission to policy binding and aiding in the administrative aspects of this process, including preparing draft NBIs, setting up of new clients (including conflict clearances with legal counsel, requesting invoices from the accounts team, updating folder structures and drafting expense agreements); performing sanctions and anti-money laundering checks, drafting instructions to external legal counsel, compiling final policies and ensuring policies meet compliance requirements, taking notes on underwriting calls, assisting with invoicing and more.
You’ll develop a thorough understanding of CFC’s workflow processes and systems as well gaining exposure to insurance. A role as an underwriting assistant provides a great foundation for a career at CFC, with a number of our underwriters and underwriting team leaders starting their careers here!
About you
This is an entry level role, and we'd expect you to be a graduate with a study background in Finance, Economics, Law or a related field.
