Our team in Space & Defense is looking for a Training Systems Manager to join them. You will report to the Quality Assurance Manager and will have an onsite work schedule in Blacksburg, Virginia.

In this role, you will lead the design, development, and execution of training strategies that ensure employees are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to support both current and future business needs.

To be considered for Training Systems Manager, you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a manufacturing or technical operations environment, with demonstrated knowledge of production processes, workforce development, and continuous improvement practices.

  • 3 years of experience in training, development, or coaching in a technical or operational environment

  • Strong knowledge of AS9100 / ISO9001 quality systems

  • Proven experience developing and implementing training curricula

  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal)

  • Experience working in a team-based and cross-functional environment

  • Ability to assess organizational needs and develop effective training solutions

  • Strong project management and organizational skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with training or media tools

  • Ability to build relationships and influence across all levels of the organization

  • Willingness to travel

As a Training Systems Manager, you will:

  • Develop and implement training strategies that support organizational performance and growth

  • Assess workforce skills, identify gaps, and lead initiatives to close those gaps

  • Ensure compliance with internal Quality Management Systems (QMS), industry regulations, and customer requirements

  • Design, deliver, and evaluate training programs across technical and professional disciplines

  • Partner with operations, HR, and leadership to align training with business goals

  • Measure training effectiveness and drive continuous improvement initiatives

  • Manage training systems, tracking, reporting, and documentation for compliance and efficiency

  • Oversee employee development programs and support career growth planning

  • Serve as a subject matter expert and “go-to” resource for training and development

  • Lead, coach, and develop training instructors

  • Leverage technology and innovative methods to enhance training delivery

  • Collaborate across sites to ensure consistency in training programs

Salary Range Transparency:

Blacksburg, VA $115,000.00–$170,000.00 Annually

Salary Range Disclaimer

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
