Job Description
Job Summary
The Learning and Development Specialist II will work with the business to understand training needs and facilitate training solutions. Delivery of offerings will include company-wide training such as Operations New Hire, Sales, Continuing Education and Leadership classes. The Learning and Development Specialist II will be responsible for building strong working relationships with team members and management to facilitate formal training sessions, develop training documentation, provide ongoing support, track and analyze course offerings by examining participant job performance, resolve routine issues and monitor daily operations through knowledge of training processes. In addition, course evaluations are analyzed to determine solutions for improvement and determine effectiveness of training sessions. This position will prepare lessons as well as design and develop continuing education training and provide direction to less experienced peers.
Essential Functions
- Delivers training in a classroom setting using techniques such as lectures, role plays, reviews; facilitates hands on computer training.
- Designs and develops curriculum and training materials and maintains up-to-date training manuals and related materials.
- Works with training and management teams to identify and propose possible training solutions for the business.
- Establishes strong working relationship with management team to ensure trainee progress is clearly communicated to all parties.
- Assembles training materials prior to class start and ensures preparation is complete prior to class.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- College degree or equivalent work experience.
- Two (2) to Four (4) years of work related experience in a similar role.
- Experience in the auto finance or financial services industry preferred.
- Experience writing reference materials, procedures manuals and end-user guides.
- Knowledge of adult learning, teaching methodologies and instructional design mechanics.
- Knowledge of state and federal regulatory compliances.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.
