POSITION SUMMARY

Helps drive company values and philosophy and ensures all training, development, and performance management activities are strategically linked to the organization’s mission and vision. Specializes in performance development and learning delivery of brand and service-related topics. Plans and executes key learning delivery and leadership development activities. Facilitates and/or delivers specified training, including core required training and training for hourly employees, supervisors, and leaders. Acts as subject matter expert on leadership development tools and resources, educating all leaders on their resources and assisting in their development as requested/appropriate.

Monitors compliance of all required training, including training programs for new hires, training initiatives, and works directly with HR and Operations Leaders to drive compliance for all required training. Understands and utilizes learning technology platforms and oversees Learning Coordinator responsibilities to support ESG training needs. Verifies programs/processes are effectively implemented to accomplish objectives in alignment with broader business objectives. Conducts needs assessments, partners with subject matter experts to identify appropriate content and delivery methods of both custom and 3rd party training programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Because Eastern Shipbuilding is continually growing to meet the needs of our customers, the essential duties and responsibilities may be different than described.

  • Regular attendance at work and the ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
  • Develop and implement training and development programs that support the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Evaluate and assess individual employee training needs and create a plan to address those needs.
  • Develop and maintain training materials and resources.
  • Monitor and track training program effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with the Human Resources team to ensure effective execution of training and development programs.
  • Design and deliver presentations and workshops to employees.
  • Manage and coordinate external training providers.
  • Maintain and update training records.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve employee engagement.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of training and development programs.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and developments.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Will directly or indirectly supervise employees or subcontractor personnel directly supporting the training development and management processes. The Training Manager will directly work with senior business leaders. Travel is primarily local, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be required.

REQUIREMENTS

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree and minimum of five years’ experience in an equivalent or similar role.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Skills: Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project. Ability to read and interpret documents such as general business periodicals, professional documents, technical manuals, and Company policies/procedures. Must have effective/solid and professional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to rapidly obtain, sort, filter, and analyze large volumes of data.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and smartphones. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
