Leidos has an opening for a Training Developer to support the Navy’s Sailor 2025 Ready Relevant Learning (RRL) program in Pensacola, Florida. This initiative aims to enhance individual Sailor performance and improve fleet readiness through innovative training solutions that address when, how, and where Sailors train.
Primary Responsibilities:
As a Training Developer, you will:
- Collaborate with Instructional Systems Designers (ISDs), Technical Writers, Engineers, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop engaging adult learning experiences.
- Design and develop content and instructional materials that equip students with the skills necessary to succeed in their roles.
- Incorporate cutting-edge technology into training design and delivery.
- Work closely with instructors and SMEs to identify instructional requirements, gather relevant data, and implement tailored solutions.
- Partner with technical developers to create multimedia assets that support learning objectives.
- Analyze training courses, evaluate effectiveness, and recommend improvements.
- Collect and assess qualitative and quantitative data to refine instructional strategies.
- Leverage a variety of educational technologies to support synchronous, asynchronous, and self-paced learning environments.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and 4+ years of experience or a Master’s Degree in a related field with 2+ years of experience. Additional years of experience, trainings, or certifications may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance required.
- Former military experience (Navy preferred).
- Experience briefing various stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills for collaborating with technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph.
- Knowledge of Navy Training Product development and familiarity with the Navy Style Guide.
- Experience creating Navy and DoD-compliant Training and Technical Publication documentation.
- Proven ability to develop contract deliverables aligned with Data Item Descriptions.
- Experience developing and delivering Interactive Multimedia Instruction courseware.
- Background in software development projects, particularly Agile methodologies, within the DoD or U.S. Navy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint) and XML authoring tools.
- Experience with Adobe Captivate and Photoshop.
