As a highly valued member of the Forney, TX Team, this position is responsible for coordinating our On-the-Job Training (OJT) programs. Provides a point of contact for new hires, mentors, and supervisors to help manage all OJT in the plant.

AS A TRAINING COORDINATOR, YOU WILL:

  • Communicate with managers and team leaders to determine training needs.
  • Creating and developing SOP and work instructions.
  • Contact each new hire and mentor daily to check progress and verify training is taking place according to procedure and answer any questions that arise.
  • Conduct new hire orientation for all new employees
  • Conduct plant tours for new hires of production areas and exit routes.
  • Ensure trainee is paired with a suitable mentor when regular mentor is absent.
  • Perform or coordinate all sign offs for new hires and cross trained team members.
  • Ensure new hires are in class when they are supposed to be.
  • Verify team members are signed off for jobs they are performing.
  • Train assigned mentors in effective training techniques (Train the Mentor).
  • Help to ensure rotation of mentors in business units so mentors do not get burned out.
  • Help identify problems with training and production documentation as training occurs and questions arise and direct those problems to the correct people so changes can be made in a timely manner.
  • Help team leaders with new hire placement as training occurs if new hire appears to be struggling in initial assignment.
  • Work with quality and help capture visual training aids as they occur (scrap, etc.) and organize and properly track them.
  • Support the daily operations of the HR department
  • Create, maintain, and organize personnel records and update internal databases
  • Conducts new hire orientation and prepares paperwork
  • Other duties/projects as assigned 

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Warehouse experience is required.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient computer and skills.
  • Legal work authorization in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role now or in the future.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Excellent communication skills in English / Spanish.
  • Experience working closely with Human Resources (HR) professionals.
  • Knowledge of ISO QMS.
  • Knowledge of Manhattan WMS.
  • Project management or Six Sigma experience.
