Overview

Have you ever had an amazing teacher or trainer and thought, “I would really enjoy doing that”? Or maybe you’ve been in some horrible training and thought, “I could totally do that better and have a lot of fun doing it!” Or maybe you are process minded with a passion for analyzing & sustaining standardized work to drive efficient and effective business operations? Or maybe you are just someone who likes to use the knowledge and skills you have to equip and pour into the training and development of others?

We’re looking for someone who wants to use their education or experience customer support, processing operations, marketing, learning & development, communications, or human resources to serve as a trainer at Compassion, helping release children from poverty in Jesus’ name!

This Training & Development Specialist I is an entry level training specialist who will train and support Compassion’s Contact Center, Processing Teams as well as other teams within the ministry within our Supporter Operations department. This trainer will work alongside senior trainers and subject matter experts, supporting training for new hires and current employees. Training will cover Compassion systems, procedures, workflow and key competencies in customer support and fundraising.

There’s a lot we train, too much to list it all here! But it includes things like how to serve our Supporters when they call in, how to respond to Supporter’s emails, how to engage Supporters online or through social media, how to share tough news with Supporters, or how to process the payments from our Supporters and much more. This trainer will also find themselves collaborating with other teams across Compassion too!

The training methods that we use cover the full gamut. Trainings can be in-person at our headquarters in Colorado Springs, CO but also are sometimes held virtually over Zoom for remote staff all over the US. There may be a few times out of the year where the trainer will travel somewhere to do in-person training…or to get trained themselves. The trainer may also be called upon to help develop engaging eLearning, videos, or some other training resource.

Preference will be given to candidates local to Colorado Springs as a large majority of the team members this position will serve and work alongside are based at Compassion's headquarters.
