Job purpose

The Trainee Sales Promoter will support the promotion and sales of Shell lubricants across different service stations by engaging customers, recommending suitable lubricant products, and ensuring excellent customer service. The role aims to increase lubricant awareness, customer conversion, and sales performance at stations' level.

The internship duration will be for a period of 3 months.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Promote and sell Shell lubricant products to customers at service stations.
  • Advise customers on the correct lubricant based on vehicle type and usage.
  • Explain product benefits, promotions, and ongoing campaigns.
  • Assist in upselling premium products such as Shell Helix and Shell Advance.
  • Ensure lubricant display shelves and promotional materials are clean, attractive, and well stocked.
  • Monitor stock availability and report low stock levels to station management.
  • Build good relationships with station staff and customers.
  • Support promotional events, activations, and roadshows when required.
  • Collect customer feedback and market information.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in line with HSSEQ and company safety standards.
  • Maintain daily sales and activity reports.

Requirements
  • HSC / School Certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Passion for sales, marketing, and customer interaction.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Dynamic, confident, and outgoing personality.
  • Basic knowledge of automobiles or lubricants would be considered as an advantage.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays, if required.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Sales and negotiation skills.
  • Time management.
  • Problem-solving skills.
