The Role
We’re looking for a Trainee Pensions Administrator to join Aptia at an exciting time of growth and transformation. This is a fantastic opportunity to start your career within pensions, gaining hands-on experience in a supportive and structured environment.
You’ll work as part of a collaborative team delivering high-quality administration services to members, trustees, and clients. With guidance from experienced colleagues, you’ll develop strong technical knowledge and build a solid foundation for a long-term career in pensions.
This is a hybrid role, offering a blend of office and home working.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out a variety of pension administration tasks, including leavers, data updates, and setting up benefits into payment
Respond to member, trustee, and client enquiries (with support and supervision)
Learn to perform pensions calculations accurately and efficiently
Deliver work within agreed service levels and timescales
Maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks
Collaborate with team members to improve processes and service delivery
Follow established procedures and contribute to a consistent, high-quality service
Here’s what we’re looking for:
Essential Experience
GCSE (or equivalent) in Mathematics and English (Grade C or above)
Strong numeracy skills and confidence working with numbers
Good IT skills, including familiarity with MS Office
High level of attention to detail and organisation
Ability to follow processes and work accurately within guidelines
Previous experience in an administrative role
Desirable
Academic background in mathematics or a related subject
