Traffic Engineering Specialist

STV’s Maryland team is seeking a Traffic Engineering Specialist to support transportation agencies across the state. This opportunity provides a strong foundation for career growth, offering hands-on experience in operational and safety analysis, technical design, and transportation planning.

Responsibilities include:

• Performs Traffic Engineering Studies and Designs

• Conducts traffic simulation analysis using VISSIM and Synchro/SimTraffic software, and operational analysis using HCS.

• Writes and reviews traffic impact studies and analysis reports.

• Conducts multi-modal transportation safety analysis.

• Works with multi-disciplinary teams and provides traffic inputs for environmental studies and roadway design elements such as roadway signing, pavement marking, and MPT plans, Design Approval Documents, and/or traffic signal operation analyses.

• Assists in public information meetings.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering

• Exposure to traffic analysis software (VISSIM, Synchro)

• Exposure to MicroStation & AutoCAD drafting software

• Strong oral and written communication skills
