STV’s Maryland Transportation team is seeking a motivated Traffic Engineering Specialist to support traffic and roadway design projects across Maryland and the broader Mid-Atlantic region.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and growing team of engineers focused on improving transportation networks through innovative and data-driven solutions. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals while also mentoring with peers, helping public agencies deliver safer, more efficient, and multimodal transportation systems.
What You’ll Do:
• Conduct traffic operational analysis for roadway and intersection improvements.
• Perform transportation safety and data analysis.
• Support design and evaluation of pedestrian and bicycle facilities.
• Assist with traffic signal coordination and timing.
• Develop design concepts using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, depending on client needs.
• Collaborate with planners, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 2+ years of relevant traffic/transportation engineering experience.
• Familiarity with traffic analysis software (e.g., Synchro, HCS, or similar).
• Working knowledge of MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
• Strong communication and technical writing skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Exposure to VISSIM, Synchro, and HCS.
• Experience with Maryland DOT, local county agencies, or Mid-Atlantic transportation projects.
• Interest in multimodal design and complete streets principles.

Compensation Range:

$61,760.55 - $82,347.40
