Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Traffic Coordinator to manage and optimize transportation and logistics operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a strategic mindset, and a proven track record in implementing cost-reduction initiatives. This role is critical to ensuring efficient and cost-effective movement of goods while maintaining high levels of service and compliance with local and international regulations.
Key Responsibilities Leadership and Team Management:
Lead and coordinate a team of logistics and transportation professionals to achieve operational excellence.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability within the logistics team.
Provide training and mentorship to team members to enhance their skills and performance.
Act as the primary liaison between internal teams (e.g., operations, sales, and procurement) and external logistics providers.
Cost Reduction Activities:
- Analyze transportation costs and implement strategies to optimize routes, consolidate shipments, and reduce expenses.
- Negotiate contracts and rates with carriers, freight forwarders, and other logistics partners to achieve cost savings.
- Track and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to cost, efficiency, and on-time delivery to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement cost-reduction initiatives, such as fuel optimization, carrier selection, or technology adoption.
- Traffic and Logistics Coordination:
- Plan and oversee the daily transportation operations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods.
- Monitor and manage import/export activities, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and trade laws in Mexico and internationally.
- Maintain accurate records of logistics transactions, including invoices, shipping documents, and contracts.
- Resolve transportation-related issues, including delays, damages, and disputes with carriers.
- Process Improvement:
- Evaluate current logistics processes and identify opportunities for streamlining and automation.
- Implement best practices in logistics and transportation management to drive efficiency and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with the supply chain and procurement teams to align logistics strategies with broader organizational objectives.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in traffic coordination, logistics, or transportation management.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Expertise in cost analysis and reduction strategies within the logistics sector.
- Proficiency in logistics software tools and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of Mexican and international customs regulations and trade compliance.

- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills to evaluate logistics performance and identify cost-saving opportunities.
