Technical Skills:
- Leverage deep understanding of traditional financial services, products and strategies as required to provide thought leadership and strategic support to Anchorage Digital clients and the goals they have to implement their own strategies.
- Manage and support trade capture, confirmation, margining, and settlement processes for a variety of digital asset derivative products. Handle bilateral OTC derivatives and exchange-traded digital asset derivatives, understanding both ISDA based documentation and crypto-specific contract nuances.
- Initiate and monitor collateral and margin workflows, including IM and VM calculations, lifecycle events, reconciliations, and funds movements.
- Partner with trading, risk, legal, compliance, and finance teams to ensure controls and procedures meet the highest institutional standards.
- Reconcile positions, valuations, and P&L across internal ledgers and external platforms; manage breaks end-to-end.
- Use analytics tools (Python, SQL, Excel) to automate and streamline operational workflows, from trade capture to cash and collateral management.
- Have an understanding of the crypto industry’s landscape, tokens and protocols, and the different verticals in which they’re deployed (staking, governance, etc.).
Complexity and Impact of Work:
- Navigate the unique operational complexities of digital asset derivatives
- Manage multiple product lines and counterparties across time zones and legal jurisdictions, with sensitivity to varied statutory nuances. Serve as subject matter expert (SME) on digital derivatives workflows for internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to de-risk operational processes through tooling, controls, and automation.
- Create internal presentations, reports, and/or lead projects to enhance internal processes or contribute to the development of new tasks.
- Effectively prioritize and triage competing tasks by ensuring accuracy with both Client and Counterparty monitoring tools.
- Effectively gauge risks to the organization and to clients, thoughtfully addressing complicated questions.
- Help define standards and best practices for digital asset derivatives operations in an evolving and often ambiguous market structure.
Organizational Knowledge:
- Stay updated with the evolving cryptocurrency industry trends, regulatory guidelines, and best practices related to settlements and custodial services.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of different cryptocurrencies, their underlying technologies, and the operational processes involved in custodianship.
- Ensure that knowledge is shared among the team and do not position yourself or others as a single point of failure.
- Be familiar with the responsibilities and interests of interdepartmental teams, as well as foster collaborative relationships and partnerships to achieve common goals.
Communication and Influence:
- Coach other members of the team as needed and help identify any shortcomings in current processes.
- Have "executive presence," i.e. confidence and composure interfacing with financial investors and C-level executives.
- Actively contribute to discussions within the team to improve processes and productivity, and thoughtfully convey information and insights with impact when working with other teams to address projects & issues.
- Forge relationships with key partners, specifically in support of the organization's Compliance and Product departments, as well as external counterparties.
- Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, such as traders, operations teams, compliance officers, and executives, to resolve settlement-related issues.
You may be a fit for this role if you have:
- 5+ years experience supporting the settlement activities of institutional clients in both traditional asset classes and crypto assets.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and agility, to identify emerging risks quickly, brainstorm solutions, and pivot when goals change.
Although not a requirement, bonus points if:
- Strong working knowledge in Python and SQL is a plus.
- Have experience with and understanding of crypto-native institutions.
- A passion for building early-stage startups.
